Overview

VisualCalendar is a calendar application that displays today or tomorrow's events from a Google Calendar, along with image attachments to those events available from Google Drive. This policy explains how the app handles your data.

What Data the App Accesses

VisualCalendar accesses the following data from your Google account:

How Your Data Is Used

Your calendar events and attached images are used solely to display them to you within the app. That is the full extent of how your data is used.

Data Storage and Caching

Data Sharing

VisualCalendar does not share, sell, or transfer your Google user data to any third parties for any reason. No data is disclosed to advertisers, data brokers, information resellers, or any other external party.

Limited Use Disclosure

VisualCalendar's use of Google user data is limited to providing and improving the app's core functionality — displaying your calendar events and associated images. The app does not use Google user data for any other purpose, including:

VisualCalendar does not transfer Google user data to third parties for any of the above purposes or for any reason other than providing or improving the app's user-facing features.

Data Protection

VisualCalendar is designed to minimise data exposure. The app does not operate any servers or databases, and does not store, cache, or log any of your Google user data. All communication between the app and Google's APIs takes place over encrypted HTTPS connections, ensuring that your data is protected in transit.

Authentication is handled entirely through Google's OAuth 2.0 framework. VisualCalendar never receives, stores, or has access to your Google account password. Access tokens and refresh tokens issued by Google are stored encrypted on your device using Android's KeySet Manager, which leverages hardware-backed encryption where available. These tokens are never shared with third parties or transmitted to any external server.

You can revoke VisualCalendar's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account linked applications page. Revoking access will invalidate all stored tokens, and the app will no longer be able to retrieve your calendar or image data until you re-authorise it.

Data Retention and Deletion

VisualCalendar does not retain any of your Google calendar or image data. Calendar events and images are fetched in real time and exist only in the app's active memory while being displayed. Once you close the app or navigate away, this data is discarded.

Authentication tokens are stored encrypted on your device as described above and persist until you either revoke access through your Google Account linked applications page, uninstall the app, or clear the app's data through your device settings. Google may also revoke tokens at any time in accordance with its own policies.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Google Calendar API and Google Drive API to retrieve your data. Your use of those services is subject to Google's own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Children's Privacy

VisualCalendar is designed to be suitable for users of all ages, including children with neuro-divergent needs such as autism, to help reduce anxiety by providing a clear visual overview of the day ahead.

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information from any user, including children. No account creation is required within the app itself, and no user data is retained on any server or cached locally on the device. All calendar and image data is retrieved in real time from the parent or guardian's Google account and is displayed only within the app.

Since the app does not collect any personal information, there is no data from children to disclose, sell, or share with third parties.

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted with an updated date at the top of this page.
